In recognition of Kawaii Kon’s dedication to the promotion of Japanese culture, Mayor Kirk Caldwell will proclaim April 8, 9 and 10, 2016 to officially be Kawaii Kon Days. The proclamation recognizes Kawaii Kon as a community organization dedicated to creating events throughout the year for fans and enthusiasts to gather and enjoy themselves in a safe environment to share common interests.

These dates in 2016 mark the twelfth annual Kawaii Kon, and the event’s tenth year at the Hawaii Convention Center.

“These truly are the days of Kawaii Kon, in 2016 we celebrate Kawaii Kon’s 12th anniversary and we are excited to host another successful event in Honolulu; the show has consistently grown in all aspects over the years to become Hawaii’s largest home grown fan convention, and we are proud to be part of the Honolulu ‘ohana.” Commented Faisal Ahmed, the convention’s CEO.

Kawaii Kon expects to draw over 12,000 attendees this year, and will be hosting a number of premieres and guests arriving in the US for the first time.
