In May 2007, Ryota (Vo.&Gt.), who had been playing music since junior high school in Osaka, formed the band with Haruki (Ba.), who was in the same music club as him in high school. In summer of 2008, the band appeared as one of the finalists in “SENKO RIOT 2008” Rock Festival and won second place.

After a few changes in band members, the band formed their current lineup with Shinji (Gt.) joining in January 2010 and Shunta (Dr.) joining in April 2011, and started to pursue their music career as a band.

After releasing their nationally distributed single “Sister” in July 2012, they made their presence in the indie scene after having a successful record release solo gig in Tokyo and Osaka.

In 2013, they signed a record deal with SPACE SHOWER MUSIC, releasing 2 mini albums and 2 full length albums.

They continued to play gigs actively, holding national release tours, and appearing in various music festivals and events around Japan.

In 2015, they strengthened their band performance by going on the “SPACE SHOWER RETSUDEN JAPAN TOUR 2015”, and established themselves as a band.

And in January 2016, they signed with Sony Music Labels’ Epic Records Japan.

Brian’s major debut single “HEROES” was chosen as the ending song for the hit anime “My Hero Academia”. Brian the Sun has also created theme songs for “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations”, “March Comes in Like a Lion”, and “Sweetness & Lightning”.
