Are you interested in being on stage? Do you thrive in front of a crowd? Kawaii Kon is looking for energetic and passionate emcees to bring the convention to life! If you’re ready to engage with fans, host exciting events, and share your love of anime with a crowd, we want to hear from you!

What We’re Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older by April 23, 2026
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with industry guests
- Comfort with engaging large audiences and maintaining an energetic atmosphere
- Willingness and ability to adhere to a business casual dress code during scheduled appearances
Bonus points:
- Previous experience in public speaking or hosting
- Proficiency in Japanese or Korean
Last but not least, all emcees are expected to abide by the Kawaii Kon Code of Conduct and consent to any photography and video recording.

As part of the application, you’ll be asked to submit a slate—this is a short video introduction to help us get a sense of your personality, stage presence, and overall vibe. Feel free to film on your smartphone.
Don’t worry if you’re not a pro; this isn’t a polished audition reel! Just a quick, friendly video where we can see you in action before moving forward with interviews.
What to include in your slate:
- Your name (and stage name, if different)
- A fun fact about yourself
- Why you want to be an emcee at Kawaii Kon
Please keep your submission to under 2 minutes.
Upon review of your application, you may be scheduled for an interview with a Kawaii Kon Events Manager for consideration.
What to Expect as an Emcee
Being an emcee at Kawaii Kon is more than just grabbing a mic—it’s about bringing energy, professionalism, and a love for fandom to every stage. Emcees are a vital part of our event experience, whether they’re hyping up the crowd, guiding contestants, or helping spotlight special guests.
Emcee responsibilities may include:
- Hosting in-house events such as the Song Contest or Cosplay Contest
- Engaging with the audience, keeping energy levels high, and introducing contestants
- Moderating guest panels featuring voice actors and other industry professionals
- Preparing a list of interview questions for guest panels ahead of time to be reviewed and approved by the Events Managers
- Conducting yourself in a professional and respectful manner during all guest interactions
- Arriving at least 15 minutes prior to each assigned panel (or earlier if a rehearsal is required) to check in with the Events team
- Attending any necessary rehearsals or briefings as scheduled
Additional expectations and compensation:
- One (1) complimentary 3-day badge to Kawaii Kon provided as compensation
- Time outside of scheduled panels available to explore and enjoy the convention
- Coordination and support provided by the Events team throughout the weekend
