General Guidelines

Panels are open to all topics related to Kawaii Kon’s general focus: anime, manga, music, games, and all facets of Japanese and Asian culture. If you have an interest and want to share your passion for it with other like-minded folks, please fill out a panel request form!.

To ensure a wide variety of programming, we will be accepting panels on a first come, first served basis that are helped along by the following factors:

• Comprehensive panel plan
• Topic relevance and uniqueness
• Space available in the schedule

We encourage you to submit early for the best chance of acceptance!

As the convention gets closer, more panelists will be added to the waitlist as we verify the amount of panel space we are able to offer, guest-hosted panels, so submit your panel as early as possible for the best chance! 

Panelist Benefits:

Panelists are able to receive a discounted or fully complimentary membership for their contribution to Kawaii Kon’s programming. These benefits are only available for up to two eligible parties per panel and must be named at the time of application. No changes will be accepted.

• Discounted Pass (<3) Eligibility: Panelists who run at least 3 hours of programming 
• Complimentary Pass (3×3) Eligibility: Panelists who run 3 or more hours of programming

More information on these benefits will be provided upon approval of your panel via email.

***If you are offered a pass benefit but have already purchased your membership at full price, your membership may be transferred upon request. Please email [email protected] in this circumstance.***

Panel Review Process:

We welcome all submissions, but please note that the Kawaii Kon Events Department reserves the right to reject panels for any reason. These reasons include but are not limited to the sensitive nature of the topic, potential controversy, or alignment with the panel submission guidelines.

Some topics that will be more heavily reviewed and scrutinized include but are not limited to:

• Religion
• Politics and Current Events
• Mental Health Advice
• Physical Demonstrations on Panelists and/or Attendees 

All decisions are considered final. Once approved, your panel will be scheduled.

There is a chance that your panel will be approved but may be waitlisted depending on changes in our availability. Keep an eye on your email for any updates.

While we try our best to accommodate all requested panel times, there are some cases where your panel may be scheduled at a different time. If you are unavailable at your assigned time slot, please notify us as soon as possible.
